Ellington Colliery Band is an experienced and professional ensemble capable of playing all different kinds of music at all sorts of events.

We play at a variety of events every year and can accommodate most requests for everyone. For more information regarding what we can offer at particular events, just keeping scrolling!

The band performs throughout the North East of England, but has played all throughout England and Scotland including at Carlisle Cathedral and the Royal Showground at Stoneleigh.

1. What type of events do you perform at?

   Everything…well mostly! Whilst a traditional brass band, we have a huge and varied repertoire and a group of experienced musicians to boot. Scroll down to see some more information about our most common events, but don’t worry if you don’t see your event down there, simply get in touch and we can discuss your requirements.

2. What will we play?

   This is up to you! We have a huge repertoire of music including classical, pop, film music, traditional brass band and lots more. Have a specific request? Let us know and we’ll do our best to make it happen.

3. Who and what will turn up? Do I need to provide anything?

   That depends on what you require. Whilst the full band is made of 25 brass players and 3 percussionists, depending on your requirements we can also supply small ensembles and soloists. We have a lot of kit to bring with us from euphoniums to timpanis and everything in between, but we supply and set everything up ourselves so as long as we have somewhere to play and sit you don’t need to worry about a thing!

4. How much does it cost?

   The cost of the band varies significantly depending on the type of event, location, music required, time and number of players. For more information regarding pricing please contact us. The band is a registered charity and all the fees help contribute to maintaining and developing the band and its community outreach. All the members of the band are unpaid volunteers.
